What is MaHaBote?

MaHaBote (pronounced ma.ha.bou') is one of the traditional Burmese astrology methods. It is thousands of years old. No one knows when or how it was invented. Barbara Cameron was the first to introduced the MaHaBote astrology method to the West. She called the MaHaBote “The Little Key” because its principles are similar to the Western astrology, which has twelve planets and twelve houses. However, MaHaBote is based upon eight planets (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, and Rahu) and seven houses (Temporal, Extreme, Fame, Wealth, Power, Sickly, and Leader).

MaHaBote.net was developed by Htet Thu Win as the final thesis project for the Master of Fine Arts in Web Design and New Media at the Academy of Art University in 2011.
